Agatha “Aggie” Libassi Westerhoff, better known as The Italian Cookie Lady. was a native of Scranton, Pennsylvania, and learned her Nona’s delicious Italian cookie and dessert recipes (for those of you who aren’t Italian, “Nona” is Italian for Grandmother!) from her mother and aunt.
Aggies heart to help people led her to become an operating room nurse for 40 years, but her colleagues always knew her as the Italian Cookie Lady, as for their parties and Christmas gatherings and celebrations, they always wanted her cookies.
After retiring from nursing, her friends still wanted her cookies, so she launched the Italian Cookie Lady. It was my way to honor my own grandmother, her other relatives and the rich traditions of the Italian-American community and to pass on the tradition of creating wonderful Italian cookies and desserts.
Our delicacies range from assorted cookies for any occasion or season to Cannoli (made like the Cannoli’s in Little Italy in New York), Tiramisu to Cassata Cake and Rum Cannoli Cake.
Everything on our menu is made from the highest quality ingredients with no added preservatives and nothing is ever frozen.
Baking by order ensures that you will never get a cookie or pastry that is not fresh. Orders are taken a week in advance and six weeks in advance for larger events such as weddings. Our cookies can be made to accommodate any special dietary needs, such as using a sugar substitute.
